# Remove a TV, or move TVCP to a new TV

In the Guardian app, open Settings, tap the TV under Devices, tap Disconnect TV and confirm with Unpair. If the TV is off or gone, tap Remove Device Anyway. To use TVCP on a new TV, pair the new one as usual.

## Steps

1. **Turn Uninstall Blocking off first** if you want to remove the TVCP app from that TV afterwards. It stops apps being uninstalled, TVCP included. See [Uninstall Blocking](https://tvcp.app/help/uninstall-blocking/).
2. **Open Settings.** In the Guardian app, tap the round button with your initials at the top of the Home screen.
3. **Tap the TV** under **Devices**.
4. **Tap Disconnect TV** at the bottom.
5. **Tap Unpair** on **Disconnect this TV?**. The app confirms **Device unpaired**.

## If the TV is off, broken or gone

If the TV can't be reached, the app shows **Device Not Responding**. Tap **Remove Device Anyway** to take it off your account. The app confirms **Device removed**.

## Move TVCP to a new TV

1. **Remove the old TV** with the steps above, so it doesn't take a place on your plan.
2. **Install TVCP on the new TV** and pair it. See [Set up TVCP](https://tvcp.app/help/set-up-tvcp/).

## Reconnect a TV you removed

Open TVCP on that TV. It shows a new pairing code. Pair it again from the Guardian app.

## Good to know

If you remove your only TV, the Guardian app takes you back to pairing.
